Play is the language of children and play therapy is a way of working with kids that takes into consideration their unique personalities and developmental levels. Play therapists strive to create a safe environment where children, primarily ages three and up, can express themselves freely and without fear of judgment, both the good and bad. Play therapy is
utilized in many settings to deal with a variety of concerns including behavioral issues and emotional dysregulation.
Though mainly used with children, play therapy techniques and activities can be used with clients of all ages. Games, art, role play,
sand tray, and physical activities are all tools that we utilize to design interventions that will make the therapeutic process
engaging based on the needs and preferences of our clients.
